Jennifer Makowsky is a fiction writer and poet living in Tucson, AZ. She earned her BA and MFA from the University of Arizona in Creative Writing. She has published fiction, poetry, and non-fiction in print and online.
She worked as a proposal writer and editor before deciding to switch gears and teach English. After getting her certification in London, she returned to the U.S. and taught immigrants and diplomats English as a foreign language in Washington D.C. Currently, she is teaching English to adult refugee students in Tucson.
Jennifer has continued to refine her skills in writing groups and writing workshops, including The Writer’s Center in Bethesda, Maryland and The Writers Studio in Tucson.
When she’s not writing or out wandering in the desert, she can be found at her piano.
